Leaving fortressed Sagres harbour, hikers skirt secluded coves framed by colour‑stratified cliffs, weaving through gorse and dwarf palms above turquoise swells. Old fishermen’s trails cross fossil beds and petrified dunes before descending to sleepy Salema, a traditional beach village where colourful boats still haul daily catch ashore at dawn tides.
